1. How long will it take me to create the impressions?
Plan for 20-30 minutes. The timing depends on how many times you choose to redo/reheat the wax and how many impressions you’re taking.

2. How do I know I’ve warmed the wax enough?
It should be malleable (not melting) and almost feel soft like chewing gum, though not quite as flexible.

3. How firmly should I press the wax?
Press slowly and gently with approximately the same amount of pressure you would when pressing a doorbell.

4. How do I know I’m capturing the impression?
Hold the impression up to a good light and you’ll see fingerprint lines/texture in the wax if you’ve captured them.

5. Can I email you a photo of my impression before sending it back to make sure it’s a good one?
Yes, you can email Anne at anne@fortenna.com or text 401.297.1903 a close-up photo with the flash on your wax impression(s).

6. How do I make a double-sided pendant?
Double-sided pendants work nicely with two people. It’s helpful for two people to stand facing each other and if they each use the same thumb. They should place the warm wax ball between their thumbs in approximately the same area and then press at the same time, slightly rocking side to side and up and down before gently peeling away.

7. If I want to create more pendants/charms than just what I initially ordered, is that possible with the kit I received?
That’s great you’d like to create more. There will be an additional charge. Simply let us know how many you’d like, and we’ll send you a link to pay the difference. Or, we may recommend that you order a new wax impression kit.

9. When will my sentimental jewelry be ready after I ship my wax impressions back?

Once we receive your impressions your finished piece will then ship within 6-8 weeks. You'll receive an email once it's ready so you can keep an eye out.
